I've been knitting socks that rock on two circular needles with Peaseblossom colorway. They are going pretty slow as I am also knitting a shrug for my dil2b for her birthday. I have other socks on needles also ....kroy, 1776, toasty toes, mountain colors...etc. I find great yarn on ebay and some great prices too!
Well, suddenly it changed from summer to winter. It's overcast, rainy and dropped 20 degrees almost overnight. We're supposed to get 6 inches of snow in the mountains.
We bought a new dog....a poodle. She's 13 weeks old now (12 when we got her) and sooooo cute! She's a miniature just like our other poodle, Muffy. My Fiancee named her Sandy since she's blonde. We're trying to potty train her and that's an adventure!
Will try to keep this blog updated as I've slacked off for a while. Summer is rather busy around our house. If we're not fixing things we're camping or boating. It's been a fun summer tho. A little hot but still fun. More to come.

I finished a pair of Opal Ladybug for a gal at work. Opal is okay to work with but the colors aren't as fascinating as the hand painted ones.

I tried to upload my pictures of my socks and they were there! Then all of a sudden they were gone! I will try to post them on my other blog......http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog/

I've learned how to spin now so I'm spinning like crazy. I have 2 wheels but the Ashford traveler is my favorite. I haven't used any of the yarn yet for socks. I've got at least 4 socks on the needles. I've taken a class for magic loop so that is next for socks. I am currently knitting one sock on one circular and nearly finished with that. The only drawback is that I need another loop so I can knit both of them at the same time. I still like my double points!!!

today I bought my first spinning wheel, an Ashford traveler. I can't wait to start spinning. Went to my 3rd spinning class last night and we had fun. We're finally spinning. next we will ply.

Me and my fiancee

Monday, February 27, 2006

I started on a new afghan this weekend after binding off my lavendar one. This one is knitted with two strands of Homespun and all rows are knitted. This is for my fiancee's sister who just bought a vacation home in Oregon. Beings that it is rather cool up there I will provide her with ultra warmth afghan for a house warming gift.
I am also knitting a pair of socks with yarn from KnitPiks. It is fingerling and that is just a tad too thin for me.
I bought some STR from Stitches West and will start those socks also. The colors are just to dye for! (pun intended)
I ordered a video for toe-up socks on two circular needles. I feel this will be a challenge but will be fun to do.
I bought a pattern and woolease yarn from JoAnn's for a fisherman sweater for Rob. He loves all those cables and different stitches. That will have to be knit when it's quiet so I can keep track of my stitches. I haven't knitted a sweater in many years!
I have a guild meeting this coming Saturday. It should be fun.

Today I'm reorganizing my yarn room. I have counted cross stitch supplies in there also. I'm not sure what to do with all the books yet as I pulled them out of my reading room and need a new place to put them. I have knitting, crochet and cross stitch books and pamphlets.
I am going to the Stitches West tomorrow. That will be very exciting! I will get to see and feel all the yarn. I hope to run into others from the lists I'm on. I'll take pictures too!
